چکیده

The strongly correlated two-dimensional Cu0& layer is studied to identify the mechanism of possible pairing superconductivity. The correlative motions of 0 and Cu holes are treated by a reasonable mean-field theory, and we find that holes on oxygen sites couple strongly to Cu holes to form Cu-0 spin singlet pairs, which in turn interact strongly with the Cu resonating-valence-bond state and lead to an effective attraction between 0 holes, which is responsible for superconductivity.

Interface high-temperature superconductivity

Cuprate high-temperature superconductors consist of two quasi-two-dimensional (2D) substructures: CuO2 superconducting layers and charge reservoir layers. The superconductivity is realized by charge transfer from the charge reservoir layers into the superconducting layers without chemical dopants and defects being introduced into the latter, similar to modulationdoping in the semiconductor supe...

Three-dimensionality of field-induced magnetism in a high-temperature superconductor.

Many physical properties of high-temperature superconductors are two-dimensional phenomena derived from their square-planar CuO2 building blocks. This is especially true of the magnetism from the copper ions. As mobile charge carriers enter the CuO2 layers, the antiferromagnetism of the parent insulators, where each copper spin is antiparallel to its nearest neighbours, evolves into a fluctuati...

Observation of a three-dimensional quasi-long-range electronic supermodulation in YBa2Cu3O7−x/La0.7Ca0.3MnO3 heterostructures

Recent developments in high-temperature superconductivity highlight a generic tendency of the cuprates to develop competing electronic (charge) supermodulations. While coupled with the lattice and showing different characteristics in different materials, these supermodulations themselves are generally conceived to be quasi-two-dimensional, residing mainly in individual CuO2 planes, and poorly c...

Does the Hubbard Model Show D X 2 −y 2 Superconductivity?

It is rigorously shown that the two-dimensional Hubbard model with narrow bands (including next nearest-neighbor hopping, etc.) does not exhibit dx2−y2-wave pairing long-range order at any nonzero temperature. This kind of pairing long-range order will also be excluded at zero temperature if an excited energy gap opens in the charge excitation spectrum of the system. These results hold true for...

Generalized Statistics and High Tc Superconductivity

Introducing the generalized, non-extensive statistics proposed by Tsallis [1], into the standard s-wave pairing BCS theory of superconductivity in 2D yields a reasonable description of many of the main properties of high temperature superconductors, provided some allowance is made for non-phonon mediated interactions. The discovery of superconductivity in the copper oxides in 1986 [2] and the s...
